The Like Jennie dance challenge: learn the routine, or make it with AI
How to do the Like Jennie dance challenge: learning the We Dem Boyz choreography with mirrored and slowed practice videos, or making an AI version from one photo, and how to combine both.

The Like Jennie dance challenge has two entry points now: learn the routine and film it, or make an AI clip from a photo. Here is how people do each, what the search engines suggest when you start, and how to combine the two.
Doing the challenge for real
The choreography is by We Dem Boyz, who took the grand prize at the 2025 Choreo Awards for their work. It is fast and hard-hitting, so most people learn it like this:
- Watch a mirrored practice video. “like jennie dance practice mirrored” is one of the top YouTube and Yahoo suggestions for a reason: you copy it like a mirror.
- Slow it down. Slowed “dance practice” versions of the track are easy to find, or set your player to 0.75×.
- Learn it in eight-counts. Nail the hook first; it is what the challenge clips show.
- Save the dance break for last. “like jennie dance break” is its own search: it is the hardest part.
- Film it. Phone at chest height, landscape for a full-body shot or vertical for TikTok.
Doing it with AI
If you want the result without the rehearsal (or the crew of thirty), the AI version gives you a finished music-video shot with you in front. Pick the white-studio or MV version, add one photo, and it is ready in minutes.
Real vs AI at a glance
| Real dance challenge | AI dance challenge | |
|---|---|---|
| Time | Hours to weeks of practice | A few minutes |
| Crew | Whoever you can convince | About thirty dancers, built in |
| Set | Your room or a studio | White studio or MV hangar |
| Label | Your own performance | Label as AI-generated |
Do both
A popular format is a split: your real attempt on one side, your AI “idol” version on the other. Make the AI half in the studio and stitch them in your editor.
